Congratulations Robin! It’s so exciting to hear these strategies are already yielding results for you!
Congratulations Lisa! I hear what you’re saying about getting the side hustle tasks done around the 9-5, so good on you!! Very exciting!
Hi Becky,
I like your question! I don’t have a science or method to doing this, but I have leveraged my network to offer my services as a subcontractor to other individuals and teams working in the same spaces. So far I’ve got three individuals/firms who align with the type of work I enjoy doing, and I have experience with them so I know they operate in ways that also align with my values, so I’ve just outright said- if you ever find yourself in a position where you’ve got more work than you can handle, call your girl (me)! I touch base with them every other month or quarterly just to keep me top of mind. With these specific folks, I have also said that I would return the favor if the opportunity ever comes up.
Interested to hear what others have to say as well!

Nadine spends her days working to make her corner of the world a place where more people can thrive. Over the years this has taken numerous forms across the public sector, including roles in local government, nonprofits, philanthropy, and academia. Currently, she owns and operates her own nonprofit consulting business, which has provided her the opportunity to engage with mission-driven organizations from a new perspective.
Nadine holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and master’s in public administration. These, along with the spectrum of roles she has been lucky enough to hold over the years have helped her build skills in strategy development and management, research, and grant and report writing. Evaluation in particular is an area where Nadine has spent a significant amount of time. Working with teams to understand goals, developing measures and data gathering tools, and using the subsequent insights to learn has always been a highlight for her.
A consistent thread across Nadine’s efforts has been her commitment to changing the conditions that create inequities. She is a believer that we all have a role to play in reimagining our systems and institutions so that every person has the opportunity to reach their full potential, and is eager to bring people together to make progress on this goal.
When she’s not working, Nadine is busy enjoying life with her husband and two girls, baking zucchini muffins, trying new breweries, and/or watching soccer. She’s also grateful to serve as a food pantry volunteer at Dear Neighbor Ministries, a board member for Destination Innovation, and vice chair of the City of Wichita Cultural Funding Committee.
Amanda and Jessica, thank you for chiming in! I was convinced for a few reasons Squarespace was the way to go, so I look forward to sharing what I put together in the near future.
