Very nice Karen. 🙂
Partly as a low rung on my product ladder (basic lessons will be free), partly as way to build an email list, partly as a way to archive everything I know (I’ve done a lot, and I’m just getting started, only 5+ years in), I’ve started publicizing a new project.

I’m mainly publicizing it to force myself to work on it. I spent too much time trying to figure out the internal structure, the look etc… I figured I just had to throw it out into the world and see what happens. I’ll change and iterate and improve it as time goes on.
The main thing is it’s OUT there.

I’ve *just* started to get a handle on my Product Ladder (it’s only taken 2 years)… although I organize everything online, I *have* to do brain dumps and creativity on paper and/or whiteboards.
Who’s willing to share theirs (in broad strokes)?
Here’s mine (at present). I have no clue if it’s any good, but it’s a start. 🙂
Level 1 (free)
- Social Media content (that usually points to a newsletter post, highlights a client testimonial, or talks about me or something paid that I offer)
- Free monthly Newsletter
- Free weekly “How To” (building skills)
Level 2 (mid 1)
- Workshops
- Paid weekly “How To”
Level 3 (mid 2)
- Design / Data Projects
Level 4 (big big bucks)
- On Call Tech Support

I don’t think I’ve even set up a Travers Data page on LinkedIn (or if I have, I’ve forgotten about it). I post everything through ME as I think it’s more personal (and Travers Data is about what *I* can do)… but I haven’t watched the video yet…
That’s cool. I signed up for that earlier today. 🙂
I know it’s an add for an AI app, basically (Taplio), but it’ll probably be interesting.

I missed Office Hours today due to an AEA IC TIG networking event (it went very well), but I was thinking that when the recording is posted, we could start a new thread with what it covered and if we can add personal experiences about the questions Stephanie received.
I’ve connected with a few people in cohort 2 who want to re-up as well, but don’t know how to involve them since this forum is cohort-specific.
Adding on to the website thread.
Mine was pretty horrible. It now has a refreshed design.
Still not perfect, and I see so many things I want to fix, but perfectionism is the enemy of action, right?
Joseph Travers replied on January 31, 2024 at 10:40 am in reply to: Who wants to re-up with me in 2023? #4229I’m going to reach out to some of our fellow Cohort 1 Bloomers to see who else wants to re-up with us.
No matter the stage of our business we’re in, I think it could be beneficial for all of us to discuss what we’ve learned and what we continue to learn from modules.
Joseph Travers replied on January 24, 2024 at 5:12 pm in reply to: Who wants to re-up with me in 2023? #4116Awesome Karen & Denali & Ann!
I’m gonna put all the new Office Hour sessions in my calendar to get started. 🙂

Karen Peterman and I Zoom’d a coupole weeks ago about a possible joint project and we started talking about re-focusing on Boost & Bloom content in 2024.
There is SO much good stuff here (thanks Stephanie!) and I think it’s getting better as I learn more, so re-watching / re-reading modules is going to be very useful.
Update! The client I wanted to let go wanted more work from me, so I learned from past mistakes and drew up a quote which was more detailed (and had items that addressed the situations that made me want to let them go in the past) and was very expensive, because if I was going to work with them more, I was going to factor mental health into the price.
They’re not moving ahead with it (at least not with me), and I’m totally okay with it.
To be honest, in my original work for them I hacked a few things in Power BI to make some of their visual wishlist come true that I’ve not seen anywhere else, so I’m curious what another Power BI person will do if they go with someone else.
Good idea Sarah… no… I didn’t do that. 🙁
All my rates are going up for 2024. No one really blinked at my 2023 rates, so up we go! 🙂
Yup, definitely Sarah. I think the “personal” way of promotion is probably way more effective. Quality over Quantity. 🙂
I’m sad that this forum seems pretty quiet nowadays, but I’ll keep posting. …
It’s November and I just let my clients who I have longer term relationships with it’s time to “renew our vows” for 2024. Thanks to Stephanie’s post about her mistake of a 5-year / one price contract, I planned ahead and put my current contract to go to Dec. 31st.
