Hey friends. Dana Benjamin is a Boost & Bloomer who is part of the team holding a series of free workshops on running the tech in your biz. Here's the description:
As an “expert” in all things data, you are often the owner of sourcing/managing the database (because it has the word “data” in it). Now you need a different vocabulary to translate your work and your needs to a technology vendor. Where do you start? What should you do?
The Greater Boston Evaluation Network is hosting a 3 part “ Other Duties as Assigned” workshop series to:
- Empower organizations to own tech conversations
- Equip organizations with the skills and tools to determine their needs and select the right system(s)
- Provide opportunities for organizations to implement what they’ve learned
Knowing What you Need 10/17
Participants will learn how to assess and prioritize their technology needs and research the systems that meet those needs. Hosted by Back of the Napkin Consulting and TechSoup.
Determining Systems & Vendors 11/9
Participants will learn how to compare technology systems and methods for selecting and implementing solutions.
Hosted by Project Evident.
Tech Contracts: Putting You in the Driver’s Seat 12/5
Participants will learn how to decipher technology contracts and discern when/if extra costs are applied.
Hosted by Common Impact.
Each session is hosted by a technical assistance partner who can offer free services to nonprofit attendees.
TechSoup connects nonprofit organizations with donated or discounted software including more than 375 products from over 100 companies like Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco, and Intuit.
Project Evident’s Equitable Recovery Wallet connects qualifying nonprofit organizations with evidence-related technical assistance, offering a range of supports around data, evidence, outcomes-based budgeting, and communications
Common Impact designs skills-based volunteer engagements between nonprofit organizations and corporate professionals to address capacity and infrastructure needs so nonprofits can advance their mission and achieve bigger, faster, or more efficient impact.
