Hello everyone,
I am a bit late to the party – thanks Karen for the push 🙂
I am not sure yet how intense I will work with Boost & Bloom, but I will start with a little lurking and see what you all have been up to.This is where I stand:
The last year was busy in good ways – it seems that my website is ranking quite ok with the right search terms, because people contact me via my website. Workshops with universities are goind really well and now is the second time a huge company was interested to work with me.
The current enquiry freaks me out a bit because what they need is something I was thinking about doing but didn’t so far (which means I am not really sure I can do it) plus they have more work to do than I can do, which means I have to look for subcontractors. We just had a call where they described for me what they need and it left me both excited and terrified 😀Susanne Berger replied on September 16, 2022 at 10:09 am in reply to: What we did over summer vacation… #2654Wow, Karen, the photos are super super good! Congratulations to all your progress. And if you would like to get feedback on the website, I would be happy to take a closer look.

- thought about possible clients (outside of academia). Interviewed people, considered different things and discarded ideas. No major epiphany about who could be clients.
- decided to start a second business. I am not sure it is a good move (since I feel I should built my first business first and I think I am running away from that a bit by starting something else on the side).
- held my first workshop abroad (I have been invited to Sweden). That was exciting.
- also here: too little time for too much work 🙂

not so much more to add, I guess 🙂
Hello,
I was thinking maybe we can have a themed Happy Hour: Personal Challenges. About perfectionism, imposter syndrome, analysis paralysis or being stuck for whatever other reason. It seemed to me in the last office hours that I am not alone and that already made me feel better.
It is not meant to be a therapy session, but rather an exchange of experiences with a focus on how to move forward. What do you think? Do you want to talk about it?
and a fun little drawing about imposter syndrome by one of my favourite scientists / artists @redpenblackpen:
Thanks Michelle for posting this. I think there are a lot of Learners here – according to the Clifton Strengths Test. My No 1 strength is Learner and yes, that might be the thing, that I feel I need to learn more about this to get started. And then I forget to implement what I learned, and rather jump on to the next thing to learn about, because there is always more … 😀
Wow, what a number of achievements! Congrats.
Hitting “send” was strange, but now it feels ok. Finding a good balance between “spending hours on twitter and getting really overwhelmed by what everybody else does” and “getting myself out there and actually interact with people” will be the next challenge.
Thanks for your support 🙂
I finally wrote a blog post and tweeted about it (this feels big for me): tadaaaa!
It took forever, mainly because I have no idea how everything works so it took me two weeks to figure out what twitter cards are, what the best image format would be and why on earth that stupid featured image does not show in the twitter card. But I finally made it!
And I got myself a cargo bike to bring the kids to and fetch them from kindergarden – this means 15 km biking per day and that is just awesome. I would like to add it to the business victory laps, because self care is important to be productive and I am very sure this extra biking is like an energy booster for me.
I am way off with the timing, here … But anyways, I just suceeded in writing a tweet about this blog post. Juhu!
How exciting! Would you like to share the name of your business?
