Hey Chris! Though you didn’t ask for it, we talked about your makeover in Office Hours today! Have a listen! (and good job!!)
Kim, this is GREAT! I’ve got just one small formatting tweak. Can you get (not competition) on the second line, by itself?
Gotta love getting that first invoice paid! Those systems you’re setting up are going to make running the biz so much smoother. Enjoy the thermal baths in Iceland!

I love what you said Alison! You could even allow the discount for just part of the project.
Just remember that all negotiations meet somewhere in the middle so you might want a higher starting point.
That’s a FANTASTIC deal
GOOD FOR YOU. It’ll get easier each time.
Ann, I’m so proud of you!

Stephanie Evergreen replied on March 13, 2023 at 6:30 pm in reply to: Systems for tracking expenses etc. #3345Hey I wanted to chime in here to say that I’m currently reviewing other options. I’ve been with Freshbooks forever, to track expenses and send invoices. But I want an even more streamlined tool that will also send proposals, then send contracts when the proposal is accepted, then send the first invoice when the contract is signed. I’m looking into Bonsai right now but haven’t made a final selection yet. Just putting it out there because I think your needs will grow beyond expense tracking.
Wow, you bought the business! That’s such a huge, courageous move. Your website is looking really good. Super crisp messaging in there. It’s nice that you can be here in this space without that looming over your head. It also means you can try out some different marketing strategies and those potential clients will have a solid place to land when they look up more details on who you are.

Be sure to check out the website lessons for more clarity here, but the big Q to A is about what pages and features you want on your site. If you just have basic needs, Wix or Squarespace will be fine!
Stephanie Evergreen replied on March 3, 2023 at 1:04 pm in reply to: Systems for tracking expenses etc. #3289I’ve been using Freshbooks for years. It’ll also do invoicing and such. Free if you have less than 10 clients I think.
This IS a giant therapy session, Dennis 🙂 My family has been in aspects of construction management for years. Now they primarily do scheduling. So many of those skills overlap with what you want to do now, so don’t discount that experience when your imposter syndrome creeps up. You’re in the right place.
So good to have you here, Asya! I love that you want to move from 1:1 to 1:many. Definitely more lucrative for the same impact on students. Lee is kinda in the same space – you two should connect!
