I’m happy to hear how others are doing it but wanted to chime in with this, at least: Many students from last year’s cohort are going through the modules again, now. There’s definitely that overwhelming urgency feeling. But you can’t possibly consume it all right now. Nor is your business ready for you to do that. Plan for having to return in the future.
Hey Alicia, I would make that admin assistant hire ASAP. You’ll be able to find things for them to do.
For the project lead, I don’t think you necessarily need to have a year of work on the books before hiring – if you are hiring a contractor rather than an employee. There are plenty of folks who only want some temporary, short-term work. I’m thinking, for example, of a friend of mine who doesn’t want to work full time but she loves taking on short-term projects. Or my dad, who just retired, but got bored and is helping out an accountant friend in the busy season. Both of these folks are mature, experienced, and not trying to work full time. You’ll find that type of person if you’re clear about what you want. If you’re looking for an employee, you definitely need to have more on the books (including overhead to cover their benefits and insurance – watch the bonus video by Komani)
Hey Alicia! Are you thinking of an assistant, a subject matter expert, or who – exactly – for your first hire? Also curious if you’re thinking about contracting or making that person an employee.

Aloha Joyce!
My one and only son is also a junior in HS and it’s definitely causing me to look ahead a few years and do some re-imagining. Awesome! I’m really excited for what’s next for you.

I saw in our other thread that you’re a digital learning designer. Can you say more about specifically what you do and who you like to work with?
Also, did you see the bonus lesson on naming things yet?

Game on, Chris! It’s going to be so cool to help you growth in this way, too.

Your edit is hilarious, Allison. Love the color scheme on your site. It gives you lots of energy to work with.
We have a politician with us! Love it. Congrats! Your success there is evidence that you can forge something out of nothing and make it work. Trust that.
Hi Marko! It’s really nice to have that network that you can continue to rely on while expanding your reach beyond there.
FUN!
